Description |
Appraisal of the farm located at the historic house Cessford in Eastville. VA. The appraisal values the farmland and corns and oats grown on the land. Appraisal was done for Dr. George Ker following the death of his father and the previous owner, Dr. John Ker. TRANSCRIPTION: We the undersigned having appraised the personal estate of Dr. John Ker decd, in obedience to an order of the county court of Northampton, were then called upon by Dr. George Ker to fix the amount of yearly rent, that he should pay for the farm & improvements thereon, of which the said Dr. John Ker decd possessed, and after making an estimate of the corn & oats, that could be made upon the farm, have fixed the price at Five Hundred & fifty Dollars, it being in our opinion the value of two fifths, of both the corn and oats that the said farm can make at a fair and average price for the same. Given under our hand this 31st day of December 1847. John S. Parker Leroy Oldham Tully R. Wise |
