Description |
Deed for land from Mary Anne Stratton to John Ker. The property had belonged to Edward Stratton, who was deceased at the time of writing. Property known as Mill Quarter, same tract sold under decree of Northampton Country Court and parcel known and Lower Elkington (mortgage held my John Ker). Signed by M. A. Stratton in the presence of Severn E Parker, Jno. L Wilson, Ellen R. Johnson. Deed was submitted to the Northampton County Court and signed as: "Northampton county in the Clerk's Office 25th November 1831 deed was proved before the clerk by oaths of the Severn Parker, Jno Wilson and Ellen R. Johnson. By W. J. Winder clerk." John Ker would build the house Cessford on the land from this deed. Cessford remained in the Ker family for several generations. |
