Description

In this document John Shepherd Ker pays George Wise and laborers (black and white), possibly working for George Wise, for the construction of five outbuildings at Ker Place. This included a cook house, a dairy house, a "meet" (meat) house, kitchen, and barn. This is likely the original kitchen at Ker Place located on the eastern end of the home. The stable was likely just a few feet east of the kitchen based on the findings of a 2010 archaeological dig at Ker Place.
