Description |
In this document John Shepherd Ker pays George Wise and laborers (black and white), possibly working for George Wise, for the construction of five outbuildings at Ker Place. This included a cook house, a dairy house, a "meet" (meat) house, kitchen, and barn. This is likely the original kitchen at Ker Place located on the eastern end of the home. The stable was likely just a few feet east of the kitchen based on the findings of a 2010 archaeological dig at Ker Place. TRANSCRIPTION: 1800 John Shepherd Ker Dr To Geo A.
