Belle DeCormis was born in Accomac, VA in 1921. She was the valedictorian of the 1938 Class of Accomac High School. She was a doctor and likely the first woman on the Shore to have a physician's practice when she partnered with her father, Dr. Joseph L. DeCormis, in 1950. She was director of the Eastern Shore Health District from 1965 to 1983. She married William E. Fears, who worked as Virginia State Senator for 24 years. |
