Charles Prentiss was born in 1774. He began writing while studying at Harvard and entered the publishing business with his younger brother. He worked as a writer and editor for pro-Federalist newspapers. He moved to Washington D.C. in 1799. He worked on the Washington Federalist with William Rind and John Stewart. |
