Dr. John Robertson was born in Onancock, VA. He attended Margaret Academy and Onancock High School before earning his M.D. at the University of Maryland School of Medicine in 1909. During World War I he served in the Army as a doctor in several U.S. General Hospitals in New Jersey, New York, Georgia, and Maryland. He served as the town doctor of Onancock for over 50 years, starting in 1910 as a partner with his father Dr. Edgar Waples Robertson. He was an avid photographer and a member of the American Legion, Medical Society of Virginia, and the Nor-Mac Power Squadron. He was the president of the Onancock Rotary Club in 1937, Eastern Shore Shrine Club, and the Accomack County Medical Society. |
