George Corbin was born in 1744. He served in the Revolutionary War as lieutenant of the Accomack County Militia. He was a large landholder in Accomack County with property in Onancock, Oak Hall, Hallwood, Temperenceville, Horntown, Chincoteague Island, and also had some land in Somerset County, MD. In 1787 his home Corbin Hall in Horntown was built. Much of his land was left to his daughter Agnes Corbin and her husband John Shepherd Ker when George passed away. |
