Severn Eyre Parker was born in 1787 to George VI and Margaret Parker. Parker became a lawyer before being elected to the Virginia House of Delegates in 1809. In 1803 he became deputy clerk of Northampton County. In 1815 his first wife, Maria Savage, passed away after childbirth. The child, the couple's second, also passed away shortly after being born. From 1817 to 1820 he served in the VA State Senate. He was also elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1819. He was elected to the VA House of Delegates again in 1828 and 1834 and died while still in office in 1836. He was buried at his family's home, Kendall Grove, near Eastville. |
